April 3, 2020

Even before Covid 19 was registered in Serbia, EU was supporting Serbia in fight with the pandemic. First aid arrived very early, EU helped Serbia to evacuate  it's citizens from Wuhan. Recently EU financed five freight flights with medical equipment for emergency situations. Serbia was also invited to join European treaty for buying medical equipment.

The head of EU Delegation in Serbia, the Ambassador Sem Fabrizi and the head of UNOPS office Michela Telatin signed the donation contract with Serbian Government in order to help the fight against pandemic, in value of 4,9 million euros. This donation will enable the purchase of ventilators and protective laboratory equipment. This is only a small part of total financial support that Serbia is about to receive from EU in order to fight the pandemic.

When signing, Sem Fabrizi stated:

In these dark times we must stand together and I am very happy that solidarity of the European Union responded swiftly on Serbia's demands for help.
